Croatian unions call for a national strike

The Croatian unions are protesting against amendments to the labour legislation. , the Croatian Labour Act is being amended, with several provisions which could seriously undermine the role of trade unions, collective bargaining and the rights of workers.

Some of these draft provisions contain drastic amendments to the already existing provisions on agency workers, and these clearly lower the rights not only of agency workers but of workers employed at the beneficiary, and cleary favour employment via temporary agencies to the detriment of permanent workers.

The Croatian unions called for national strike on 25 February and will continue protest actions on 26 February.
