ILO-ITC Turin centre course on informal economy for Eastern Europe and Central Asia

The ILO Training Centre in Turin organised training course “Employment and Informal Economy” on 15-26 March, in cooperation with the PERC. The event was focused on trade union organisations from the NIS states. Trade union representatives from Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took part in the training.

The course was moderated by the ILO and the ITUC/PERC experts. The participants discussed the influence of the informal economy on social and economic life and trade unions of the region. National and subregional future work plans were prepared, based on the ongoing PERC work on the issue.

The trade union participants of Central Asia, whose organizations are not ITUC members, expressed a wish that their organizations would be included into common work and informal economy experts network.
