ITUC is against hasty change of the Labour Code in Kyrgyzstan

The government of Kyrgyzstan is trying to hastily adopt a new liberal Labour Code. The ITUC has requested the Parliament to postpone the hearing and the Government to send the Draft Labour Code to the ILO for the technical expertise on its compliance with the International Labour Standards.

In its letter to Kyrgyz authorities the ITUC states that the new law is violating ILO Conventions 87, 98 and 154, while the hasty process is violating the Convention 144. All these Conventions are ratified by Kyrgyzstan.
