PERC preparatory meeting for the International Labour Conference

The preparatory meeting for the ILC took place in Lisbon, 14 and 15 April. The participants discussed the agenda of the International Labour Conference: global supply chains standard setting process, piece and resilience committee and the social justice declaration, along with the traditional work of the committee on application of standards.

Special attention was devoted to the human and trade union rights situation in Turkey, where trade union activists are being arrested and intimidated, the police is used against peaceful protest actions, and labour brokers legislation that would undermine trade unions is submitted to the Parliament. The participants agreed that this case would be obvious priority for CAS discussion. Among other countries, the situation with workers rights in UK, Montenegro, Ukraine, Belarus was discussed.
