Dear Comrades, Brothers and Sisters!
This year for the first time May Day, the day of international solidarity of working people, takes place in a most extraordinary context caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic which has only aggravated the growing severe crisis in the world economy: businesses are being shut down or going bankrupt, people are losing their jobs and livelihoods. Against this background, the ongoing assault on workers’ rights looks even more sophisticated and cynical.
Now that we are not able to take to the streets and present our demands to governments and employers, as we always do on this day, solidarity becomes our main weapon and becomes even more important, because no matter where we are, no matter how different we are, we all live in the same world, and our destinies are closely intertwined with each other.
On behalf of the working people of Russia, we extend warm fraternal greetings to all our friends and colleagues abroad on our common holiday. This year, the FNPR will mark it under the slogan "Solidarity is stronger than infection!"
