PERC Youth committee meeting

The PERC Youth committee meeting took place on 17 September in Brussels. The Committee members discussed different youth initiatives and activities implemented in European region, brainstormed concept and agenda for the PERC Youth Conference that would take place in November 2013, debated development and implementation of the ITUC "Get organised" youth platform.

Tim Noonan, ITUC Campaigns Director, introduced the committee members to the concept and preparation of the ITUC Congress, which would focus of building workers power agenda.The committee decided to use the coming Youth conference for contributing to best practices on youth organising activities as well as to urge the PERC organisations to ensure inclusion of greater number of young unionists in national delegations to the Congress.

It also decided to take active part in PERC and ITUC Women’s forums this year and in particular to bring the attention to particular vulnerability of single mothers in the crisis situation. The Committee members also shared the ideas about coming World Day for Decent Work.
