The international conference “Trade unions of Russia for sustainable employment” took place in Moscow, 19 and 20 December. The conference marked the launch of campaign in favour of the law that would ban triangular relations of agency labour that ITUC Russian affiliates – the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and the Confederation of Labour of Russia – have initiated. Participants of the conference fully supported the campaign, established several working groups for different elements of the campaign: of legal experts, of communication officers, on policy lobbying.

A special campaign website www.za.trud.org will be launched in January 2012. It will serve as a central resource for information about different actions and events, for expert and resource materials, for presentations and visibility materials.

The campaign will not be limited to the promotion of the law, but will be also directed on monitoring workers’ rights violations and law enforcement in a view to promote sustainable forms of employment in Russia.
