Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic with new leaders: The future lies in work, democracy, freedom and justice!

The 11th Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic was held in Bratislava on 16 and 17 June 2022. The delegates of the Congress elected a new Confederation leadership on the first day of the meeting. Monika Uhlerová, former Vice-President of KOZ SR, was elected President of KOZ SR and František Gajdoš from OZ KOVO was elect-ed Vice-President of KOZ SR.

Delegates of the 11th KOZ SR Congress adopted the Programme of the KOZ SR for the next four years 2022 – 2026, which is based on five basic pillars, namely:
• Welfare state
• Employment, labour market and quality jobs
• Trade union rights and transparent trade union policies
• Social dialogue and collective bargaining
• Trade union solidarity and unity on an international level.

Delegates of the 11th Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic call on the state and employers:
1. to build a true welfare state
2. to lead a constructive dialogue
3. to increase wages and to lead fair collective bargaining

They stressed that they would defend the rights and position of workers and promote democratic values, social rights and security, the principles of social justice, equality, inclusion, solidarity and the guarantee of decent work and life for all.

The Congress was attended by the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger, representatives of employers and municipalities, representatives of trade union headquarters from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Germany and others.
