The Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation is calling for international support and solidarity with the protesting workers of the “Kayi construction” company. This company is an international contractor, which works in different countries and bad practices may be also spread in other places. We invite trade unions for solidarity to seek that those companies, which exploit workers, would not be able to get deals, especially, in the public sector.
Workers from Turkey are on strike in Lithuania
Since the 20th of December 2019, workers of the “Kayi construction” company (in Lithuania it is known as “KAYI INSAAT SANAYI VE TICARET ANONIM SIRKETI FILIALAS KAYI CONSTRUCTION“) in Kaunas, Lithuania, are on strike. The company has not paid salaries to these workers since they started working in March 2019.
