The loss of Trade Union movement: demise of Tamaz Dolaberidze
The trade union movement mourns the loss of an extraordinary trade union leader, Tamaz Dolaberidze, who passed away on Saturday. Tamaz Dolaberidze started trade union activity in 1992 as an ordinary trade union member. In 2004, he was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Independent Trade Union “Assistance” in “Rustavi Azoti” Plant. In 2006-2010, he was the deputy chairman of Trade Union Organization of JSC “Energy Invest”. Since 2007, Tamaz Dolaberidze has been trainer of the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation. He was a representative of the GTUC President in Kvemo Kartli region. Since 2010, he has been the Chair of Metallurgy, Mining and Chemical Sector Workers’ Trade Union. Starting from 2016 he has been deputy member of the Executive Committee of IndustriALL Global Union. In 2017 he was elected as Vice President of the Georgian Trade Unions Confederation (GTUC).
The 5th PERC Women Conference
The 5th PERC Women Conference took place in Brussels on 14 and 15 of December. Some forty sisters from PERC affiliates all over the region debated the main challenges working women face at work and at home, evaluated the actions implemented by the Women Committee since 2016, formulated priorities for the 2023-2026 period as well as for the preparation of the PERC General Assembly in 2023 and recomposed the Women Committee for the next 4 year period.
PERC OHS network meeting for SEE and NIS unions
Occupational health and safety experts from SEE and NIS trade unions met on 24-25 November in Igalo (Montenegro) to discuss the recent developments in OHS sphere in their countries and form the strategy to move forward with OHS standards as a fundamental right.
The 19th PERC Executive Committee
The PERC Executive Committee met on 26 October in Brussels. Different pressing challenges in the region were discussed, in particular the war in Ukraine and its implications to economies and lifes of people of Europe, solidarity support to Ukrainian workers and their unions, preparations for the ITUC Congress and its follow up in the PERC as ITUC region. The meeting was chaired by PERC President Irakli Petriashvili.
PERC/CGSLB best practice sharing workshop on OHS and GBV
The workshop “Exchange of good practices by trade unions on ratification of ILO Convention 190 impacting health and safety at work” took place on 25 October 2022.

Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic with new leaders: The future lies in work, democracy, freedom and justice!
The 11th Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of the Slovak Republic was held in Bratislava on 16 and 17 June 2022. The delegates of the Congress elected a new Confederation leadership on the first day of the meeting. Monika Uhlerová, former Vice-President of KOZ SR, was elected President of KOZ SR and František Gajdoš from OZ KOVO was elect-ed Vice-President of KOZ SR.
BSPK’s Protest 20th of May 2022
On, Friday, May 20th, 2022, the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo, under the leadership of the BSPK President, Atdhe Hykolli, organized a massive Protest in “Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu” square, in Pristina. More than tens of thousands of workers, members of the BSPK Federations, from all over of the Republic of Kosovo gathered in front of the Government Building, and presented their concerns and reasonable requests.
Statement by the BKDP Executive Committee in connection with the violation of the rights of trade unions in Belarus
The BKDP Executive Committee expresses a strong protest in connection with another violation of the rights of trade unions in the country, the recognition on April 7 of the Belarusian Trade Union of workers of radio and electronic industry (REP trade union), which is part of the BKDP, as an extremist formation.
Kosovo: Trade unions intensifies protests
BSPK has decided to intensify protests against the Social Partner – Government due to the delay in drafting the Law on Wages, the non-implementation of The Law on Health Insurance that has been promulgated in 2014, and the non-amending Law on Pension Schemes Financed by the State that has discriminated the workers that have worked before 1999.
